Grads and their parents are asked to arrive at GNMES between 12:45 and 1:00 pm (we will have a couple staff to direct the parking in the fire lane like we typically have for our concerts.) Carpooling and / or walking from O’Ree is encouraged as well.
Any teachers not on supervision duty during this time may greet grads outside at the front of the school to take a few pictures between 12:45 and 12:55. If it is raining that day, the grads will come directly inside and go to the small gym.
At 12:55 we will line the graduates up in pairs at the front of the school and then at 1:00 pm they will enter the school (or make their way from the small gym ) and follow this path:
from main office / lobby area to the dance floor, turn right down the yellow hallway wing, loop around the yellow wing, down the right side green wing hallway, loop around the green wing, down the right side of blue wing hallway and loop around the blue wing and then back to the lobby of the school and out the back doors leading to the playground (reading and music corner for an opportunity for pictures with their friends and family on the playground or straight out the front doors again to leave).
Current GNMES students and staff will line both sides of the hallways and classes who are in the portable classrooms, will sit in the middle of the dance floor as the grads will only walk through the main academic wings of the building. Clapping and noise makers are encouraged by our students and staff as we celebrate our grade 12 alumni.
